Not all products from Beacon Roofing Supply (BRS) are over your head. One of North America's largest roofing materials distributors, the company operates about 175 branches in some 35 US states and three Canadian provinces. BRS distributes some 10,000 stock keeping units (SKUs) to more than 40,000 customers. Besides roofing products, it distributes related materials, such as siding, windows, and waterproofing systems. The company's customers include contractors, home builders, building owners, and other resellers. BRS was formed in 1997 when investment firm Code Hennessy & Simmons acquired a controlling interest in Beacon Sales, a commercial roofer founded in 1928.
