Bass Pro Shops Company Description
Bass Pro Shops (BPS) knows how to reel in shoppers. Each of more than 50 Outdoor World stores in the US and Canada covers about 280,000 sq. ft. The cavernous outlets sell boats, campers, equipment, and apparel for most outdoor activities and offer features such as archery ranges, fish tanks, snack bars, and video arcades. The first Outdoor World store (in Missouri) has been one of the state's biggest tourist attractions since it opened in 1981. It owns Tracker Marine (boat manufacturing) and American Rod & Gun (sporting goods wholesale) and runs an 850-acre resort in the Ozark Mountains. Founder John Morris owns BPS.
