Overview
Barclays Private Equity (BPE) is an investment firm specializing in buy-outs, buy-ins, public-to-private transactions, and transfusions of growth capital. It generally invests between €10 million to €200 million ($12 million to $288 million), targeting companies in the UK and western Europe. BPE is active in the support services, financial services, consumer and travel, specialist engineering, and social infrastructure sectors. Part of Barclays Capital, BPE has invested in more than 350 companies over the last 25 years. Big British bank Barclays, BPE's ultimate parent company, is selling the unit to its management. It will be renamed Equistone Partners Europe after the deal is complete.
