IBM and the Banco Espirito Santo, a Portugese financial group, have signed a contract extending and expanding IBM's existing contract with the group, which was originally signed in 2006. The new contract was signed in June 2008 and provides for IBM to manage the entire BES server infrastructure in Portugal. The agreement is part of the group's strategy, begun in 2006, to improve IT efficiency.
