Banco de Galicia Company Description

Spaniards in the Northwest corner of that nation have their very own bank. Banco de Galicia serves the autonomous region of Galicia. As one of five regional Spanish banks owned by Banco Popular, Banco de Galicia offers personal checking and savings accounts, business accounts, personal and business loans, and credit cards from about 150 branches located throughout the region. Customers can also bank by phone or Internet. Banco de Galicia manages more than €3 million in assets, mostly from loans. It is part of the Banco Popular computer and management system but offers products tailored to Galicia residents. The bank opened in 1918 and was purchased by Banco Popular in 1969.
