Babcock & Brown Company Description
Babcock & Brown is over & out. The investment and advisory firm, which acquired stakes in real estate, infrastructure, and finance ventures in Australasia, Europe, and North America, found itself saddled with more than $3 billion in debt in 2009. The company was placed in voluntary administration that year and later delisted from the Australian Stock Exchange. Primary subsidiary Babcock & Brown International took responsibility for selling off the group's assets and winding down operations, a task it expects to take approximately three years.
