Axfood Company Description
Axfood gives folks in the Nordic region the Willys. The company is one of the largest food retailers in Scandinavia, operating more than 100 wholly-owned Willys (discount grocery stores), 40-plus Willys hemma (neighborhood grocers), and some 80 Hemköp (boutique grocery stores for food enthusiasts). Axfood also collaborates with more than 500 proprietor-run stores, including grocers within the Hemköp chain, as well as stores run under the Handlar'n and Tempo banners. Its Axfood Närlivs is a nationwide wholesaler serving convenience store retailers, restaurants, and foodservice companies. Subsidiary Dagab serves as the company's logistics arm. Swedish food importer and retailer Axel Johnson owns 45% of Axfood.
