The company is one of the world's largest distributors of electronic components and computer products, alongside rival Arrow Electronics. Avnet's suppliers include 300-plus component and systems makers; the company distributes these suppliers' products to some 100,000 manufacturers and resellers. Avnet Electronics Marketing, the larger of Avnet's two major operating units, offers semiconductors and other components as it targets industrial, commercial, and military customers.
