Asia Financial Holdings Company Description
Asia Financial is the fairly new parent to some much older subsidiaries. Its Asia Commercial Bank, founded in 1934 as the Hongkong and Swatow Commercial Bank, offers standard commercial, retail, and private banking services through a dozen Hong Kong branches, as well as three offices in Mainland China, and one in Taiwan. Its other primary subsidiary, Asia Insurance, offers personal, commercial, and specialty insurance products. Established in the late 1950s, it operates some 14 affiliate offices throughout Southeast Asia. About nine other subsidiaries engage in securities trading and holding. Asia Financial was incorporated in 1990. Chairman Robin Chan controls more than a third of the company.
