A self-administered real estate investment trust (REIT), Ashford owns and has interests in more than 110 upscale and upper upscale hotels in the US and one in Canada, which operate under such brands as Hyatt, Marriott, Radisson, and Starwood. More than one-third of Ashford's properties are managed by Remington Lodging, with the rest overseen by third-party management companies. The REIT also offers mezzanine financing, first mortgages, construction loans, and sale-leasebacks.
