ArvinMeritor Company Description
Whether it's building axles for big rigs or steel wheels for passenger cars, ArvinMeritor's actions are always meritorious. Once known as Meritor Automotive, ArvinMeritor was formed in 2000 when Meritor acquired Arvin Industries. It makes components for commercial vehicles (axles, transmissions, and braking systems) as well as for light vehicles (door, roof, wheels, and suspension systems). ArvinMeritor has divested its light vehicle aftermarket product businesses, including aftermarket exhaust (North American and European operations), filters, and motion control operations. In 2008 ArvinMeritor announced that it would separate its Light Vehicle Systems (LVS) and Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) divisions.
