ArcelorMittal Tubarão Company Description

It would be easy to say ArcelorMittal Tubarão - Flat Steel has a lot of unfinished business, but the proper term is semi-finished. The company makes semi-finished steel products consisting of slabs and hot rolled coils used in automotive, shipbuilding, construction, and industrial applications. Serving more than 60 client companies in 18 countries, Tubarão has an annual production capacity of nearly 6 million tons of steel (split evenly between slabs and hot coils). In 2005 the former Companhia Siderúrgia de Tubarão joined with two of Brazil's leading steelmakers (Belgo and Vega do Sul) to form Arcelor Brasil (now ArcelorMittal Brasil). Two years later ArcelorMittal changed the name of all its Brazilian units.
