The company became a leading player in Latin America steel distribution market after taking control of the region's Amorim Comercial. It is a publicly traded subsidiary of the world's #1 steel maker, ArcelorMittal, which changed the company's name in 2007; the next year it launched an offer to buy up Inox's publicly traded shares.
