Arcadia Company Description
Where there's a UK high street, there's a high chance of finding an Arcadia Group store. A leading British apparel retailer, Arcadia operates about half a dozen apparel chains that number more than 2,300 stores in the UK, mostly in urban areas. It also has some 420 franchised stores in about 30 countries and plans to open a flagship Topshop store in New York in spring 2009. Arcadia's fashion chains include Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Wallis, Topshop, and Evans (women's clothing) as well as Burton and Topman (men's clothing). Its Arcadia Home Shopping Services unit runs the complementary catalog and Internet businesses. Billionaire Sir Philip Green (owner of the rival Bhs chain) purchased Arcadia in 2002.
