The company has shifted its focus from highway construction to paving materials. It supplies materials to make roads, including asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and crushed stone. APAC operates quarries, aggregate production facilities, ready-mix concrete plants, hot-mix asphalt plants, and a large fleet of mobile equipment and a rail line. The company was formed in 1879 when it supplied asphalt for the first commercial asphalt road in the US.
