AMLI can provide your FAMLI with the swankiest of pads. AMLI invests in, develops, and manages multifamily residential properties. It has interests in more than 60 upscale apartment complexes containing more than 18,000 units. The company also has several properties under development. The firm concentrates its investments in about 10 metropolitan markets, including the Atlanta, Chicago, and the Dallas/Fort Worth areas. Morgan Stanley Real Estate's Prime Property Fund acquired AMLI in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $2.1 billion in 2006.
