Chinese cows produce powdered profits for American Dairy, Inc., but you wouldn't know it from the company's name: American Dairy produces and distributes milk powder. The company's Feihe brand products are primarily intended for infants and babies, although some is aimed at students, the middle aged, and the elderly. Small farmers, who have some 515,000 acres in northeastern China, supply American Dairy's three processing plants with raw milk. The company also produces walnut, soybean, and rice powders, walnut oil, and rice cereal through subsidiaries. Its products are available in 25 Chinese provinces. American Dairy chairman Leng You-Bin holds almost 63% of the company's shares.
