RNA interference (RNAi) technology developed by the biotech firm can selectively shut off harmful genes. The company is developing its own pipeline, including its treatment for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a viral infection that is a leading cause of respiratory ailments in children and can be fatal in preemies and children with weak immune systems. Other R&D programs target neurological disorders, cystic fibrosis, and Ebola virus infection.
