Overview
Alegent Health pledges allegiance to medical wellbeing in its corner of the Midwest. The not-for-profit health care system operates nine full-service hospitals in Omaha and surrounding communities in eastern Nebraska and southwestern Iowa. At the heart of Alegent Health's large network of acute care facilities, outpatient centers, and primary care clinics are two of its hospitals in Omaha -- Bergan Mercy Medical Center (with 400 beds) and Immanuel Medical Center (360 beds). The health system has a total of more than 1,800 beds and provides general and specialized care from birth to old age, in areas such as cardiovascular disease, orthopedics, oncology, physical rehabilitation, and mental health.
