Overview
Acceleration is Alacritech's mantra. The company makes network interface cards that increase processing speed in servers and storage systems by offloading protocol processing from the host CPU (central processing unit) to the adaptor card. Alacritech's cards are compatible with existing network servers, routers, and switches. The company sells through distributors and resellers such as Bell Microproducts, CDW, and Ingram Micro. Alacritech was founded in 1997 by IBM veteran Larry Boucher, the inventor of SCSI (small computer system interface), who also founded Adaptec and Auspex Systems.
