Alabama Farmers Cooperative Company Description
Alabama Farmers Cooperative (AFC) provides farmers in the Yellowhammer State a full range of agricultural supplies and services, including feed, fertilizer, seed, grain storage, and marketing, along with home-gardening items such as seeds and hardware. The co-op, which boasts 46 member associations, also serves members in parts of Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi. AFC owns Bonnie Plant Farms, one of the largest suppliers of vegetable plants and annual flowers in the US. Its Anderson's Peanuts division was sold to Birdsong in 2007. Originally called the Tennessee Valley Fertilizer Cooperative, it was established in 1936.
