The company produces about 12 million tons of cement, clinker, and concrete each year from more than 30 plants and processing facilities in the Marmara and Aegean regions of Turkey. Its products include cement, ready mix concrete, and concrete aggregates. Akçansa also offers ship loading services at the ports of Çanakkale and Ambarli. The company prides itself on environmental stewardship -- it limits emissions, recycles waste products, and uses cement plant waste as fuel. Its subsidiary Karçimsa combines slag (a process byproduct) with clinker to produce slag cement. Sabanci Holding and HeidelbergCement equally share about 80% of Akçansa.
