French agri-food empire Société Cooperative Agricole et Agro-Alimentaire, or Agrial, provides a rich crop of agricultural products as one of the country's largest food cooperatives. Created in 2000 from the merger of three co-ops -- Agralco, Orcal, and Coop Can -- Agrial grows, processes, and markets vegetables, cereals, meats, and dairy products, selling them in France and elsewhere in Europe. It also runs hardware stores, nurseries, and garden centers under the Point Vert and Magasin Vert names. Subsidiaries include Priméal, Valtero, and Socopa. Agrial and Coopagri Bretagne cooperate in pig-production venture Gie Capig. In 2011 Agrial merged its milk collection operations with Normandy's Elle & Vire.
