Overview
AGL Resources is resourcefully tackling deregulation. Although its customers now choose a natural gas supplier, AGL Resources' Atlanta Gas Light unit delivers natural gas to 1.5 million customers in Georgia. AGL Resources also operates natural gas utilities in Tennessee (Chattanooga Gas) and Virginia (Virginia Natural Gas), and it has operations in Florida, Maryland, and New Jersey via its acquisition of NUI. Overall, the company distributes natural gas to 2.2 million customers. Through its nonregulated subsidiaries, AGL Resources markets natural gas to retail and wholesale customers, stores and transports gas, offers asset and risk management services, and operates telecommunications networks.
