AES SeaWest harnesses sea winds and other big blows in the West. The alternative energy company develops wind farms and provides operational services (including consulting, maintenance, and asset management) for its clients. Over the past two decades, AEA SeaWest has installed more than 3,150 turbines, totaling more than 772 MW of electricity in the US (in California, Oregon, Texas, and Wyoming) and 58 MW in the UK. The company's former parent, SeaWest Holdings, was acquired by independent power producer AES in 2005 for approximately $60 million.
