In order to operate on a sounder footing, in 2007 Sound Energy Trust (formerly NAV Energy Trust) merged with and into Advantage Energy Income Fund. Through its subsidiary Advantage Oil & Gas, the company explores for and develops oil and natural gas in western Canada, primarily in central and southern Alberta, as well as in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. The company has more than 500 drilling locations. With about 943,000 net acres of undeveloped land, the company has interests in proved and probable reserves of 120.6 billion cu. ft. of natural gas equivalent and produces about 30,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
