Administrative Office of the Trial Court Company Description

The court system may keep the state of Massachusetts running, but the Administrative Office of the Trial Court (AOTC) keeps the court system running. Made up of a Chief of Staff and nine department heads, the AOTC is overseen by the Chief Justice for Administration and Management. It both provides service to and manages the trial court system, which covers the trial courts (district, housing, juvenile, land, and probate), commissions, appeals courts, and the Supreme Court. AOTC departments include Court Facilities, Judicial Education, Legal, Fiscal, Security, HR, and Support Services. The Office has a budget of about $124 million.
