ADEED Company Description

The Alaska Department of Education and Early Development aims to help maintain a quality education system for its some 130,000 students (native Alaskans and American Indians make up about a quarter of its student population). The agency develops and enforces state regulations and standards for curriculum, assessment, and teacher certifications for its more than 50 school districts. The department, which has an annual budget of more than $1 billion, also offers programs in career and technical training, school health, and special education.
