Overview
Acindar manufactures non-flat steel products, such as billets, beams, cold drawn and hot-rolled bars, welded meshes and wire rod. It also makes cut rebar and nails. Acindar serves clients in the construction, agriculture, automotive, and energy industries as well as customers in various other sectors. The company has annual capacity of about 1.3 million tons, with most of its operations in Argentina though it does have a manufacturing facility in Brazil and a commercial office in Uruguay. It acts as ArcelorMittal Brasil's Argentine unit and does about three-quarters of its sales in the country. Acindar was formed in 1942.
