Acertec wants to come up aces in steel components and automobile parts. Acertec Holdings produces large body parts for car manufacturers, as well as steel and wire products and steel concrete reinforcements. The company operates through three subsidiaries: Stadco makes automotive stampings and assemblies; British Reinforced Concrete (BRC) makes reinforcing steel used in concrete construction; and BRC Asia makes steel mesh reinforcement. Although firmly entrenched in the UK, Acertec has operations in Germany and East Asia; it has announced plans to expand to Russia. Customers include BMW and Ford. Candover Investments owns more than 20% of the company.
