gas. GdF and Acea team up for storage. Gaz de France and Rome group Acea have agreed a joint venture with Gas Plus to develop gas storage in Italy's Marche region. With potential capacity of 500 million cubic metres, the storage - to be operated by Gas Plus on completion in 2012-13 - will cover 5 per cent of current Italian capacity. GdF and Acea have a 51 per cent stake in the venture.

BRUSSELS, Belgium _ Soaring fuel and food prices drove inflation to a record high of four per cent and car sales tumbled in June in the euro region, according to statistics published Wednesday by the government and car manufacturers.

Ace Names Swiss Citizen to Board as Part of Redomesticating Plan [BestWire Services]

Olivier Steimer, chairman of Lausanne, Switzerland-based Banque Cantonale Vaudoise, has been elected to the board of directors at Ace Group. Steimer's appointment was approved by Ace's shareholders at the company's annual meeting in Bermuda July 10. Steimer, a Swiss citizen, has been chairman of Banque Cantonale Vaudoise since 2002.
