Accelr8 Company Description
Accelr8 Technology wants to speed up your lab results. Using its BACcel technology, the company is working on quicker methods for identifying bacterial infections. Its BACcelr8r system is being designed for use in clinical settings to provide bacterial identification within two hours. If successful, the system will be an improvement over existing methods which depend upon identifying bacteria in a culture grown over two to five days from a patient sample. Instead, BACcelr8r will look directly at the sample itself, sort through the tens of thousands of bacterial cells to identify any pathogenic bacteria, and determine if any are resistant to antibiotics.
