1. What is an affiliate program?

If you have a Web site that is visited by business professionals or anyone looking for business information, you can profit by linking to the Hoover's Web site. Each time your visitor clicks on a Hoover's link on your site and completes a webform, you earn a referral fee! It's quick, easy, and profitable.

2. Why join?

It's easy and it's free! When you become a Hoover's affiliate you will have exclusive rights to market our products through an online affiliate channel. This gives you a distinct advantage over other competitors to utilize our notable consumer base and add value and content to your site. Our affiliate partner, LinkShare, offers the resources and tools you need to manage your program and make it a success.

3. How does the Hoover's affiliate network work?

Hoover's will ask that you register with LinkShare, our affiliate program management service. After your application has been approved, you will receive an e-mail containing your username and password and detailed instructions on how to begin pulling our links and text. Hoover's will provide you with all of the graphics, links and marketing support you will need. Each time your visitor clicks on a Hoover's link on your site and completes a webform, you earn a referral fee of $10. If a sale is generated off of that referral, you earn an additional 10% of the purchase price.

4. Can I be an affiliate if my site is not-for-profit?

Yes. Hoover's welcomes not-for-profits and appreciates the opportunity to support any cause that aligns with our company image, morals, and values.

5. Is my site eligible to become a Hoover's Affiliate Partner?

Hoover's wants sites interested in selling our subscriptions. We encourage all interested sites to apply to our program. However, before you can participate in our program, we will need to approve your site. Hoover's reviews each application carefully. We reserve the right to reject or remove sites at any time for any reason. Mainly we look for sites that:

• Do not display content that may be deemed pornographic or offensive.
• Are fully up and functional. We will temporarily decline sites that are down or are under heavy construction.
• Are not personal homepages or personal Web sites.

You must also remain in compliance with our terms of service.

6. What does it cost to join?

Nothing! Join now, cancel any time.

7. What commission does Hoover's offer?

Hoover's offers a referral fee of $10!
If someone comes to Hoovers.com from your Web site, and completes a webform, you will receive $10! It's that simple.
In addition, you will receive 10% of the purchase price on each sale generated from your referrals. With Hoover's average purchase price of $5,000, you have the opportunity to earn, on average, $500 per converted lead on top of your flat rate commission!

We offer 30 return days, so if your customer clicks through Hoover's and does not sign a form until later, you will still receive credit for the form.

8. How are orders tracked and credited to my account?

All Hoover's links and banners contain a tracking code. When your visitor clicks on the Hoover's link on your site and registers through a webform, you will receive a commission. LinkShare tracks all transactions and click-throughs for your site. This information can be immediately accessed through your LinkShare account.

9. When will I be paid?

LinkShare will pay each affiliate monthly. All activity can be tracked through LinkShare.
