Dun & Bradstreet team members, along with executives and employees from various sponsors, including Adobe, Deloitte, NetApp, Acquity Group and more, took time away from the office to join the High Tech Challenge golf tournament. School supplies ready for delivery to kids in need.

Helping Students Get Back to School
At the beginning of September as students in the U.S. prepared to go back to school, Dun & Bradstreet team members in Short Hills, NJ, and Austin, TX, also geared up for the school year. Both sites conducted fundraisers to help students get the materials they need to be successful.

Since 2006, team members in Austin have annually partnered with Pecan Springs Elementary School to collect donations and school supplies benefiting underprivileged kids. Since 97% of the students at Pecan Springs are on the assisted lunch program and qualify for school supply assistance, Austin team members committed to providing all students with the school supplies they need for each year. With the Dun & Bradstreet match, the Austin team raised nearly $6,000 for the Pecan Springs Elementary School.

To help students prepare for school, team members in Short Hills collected school supplies and monetary donations for Jersey Cares, an organization that partners with nonprofits to identify needs and implement volunteer projects to meet these needs.

During this time a variety of school supplies were collected for disadvantaged students. In the end, the team donated 22 backpacks full of school supplies and an additional seven bags of supplies.

6,500 KM, 15 Countries, 4 Dun & Bradstreet Motorcyclists and One Great Mission
Members of the Dun & Bradstreet Europe team joined the Balkan Bike Challenge 2013 to drive awareness of the vulnerability of the children in Eastern Europe and to raise funds for the SOS Children’s Villages in Bulgaria.

In 16 days they travelled 6,500 km, through 15 countries facing harsh weather conditions, poorly constructed roads and even broken down motorcycles. During this time they raised nearly €27,000 for the SOS Children’s Villages.

Approximately 350,000 children in Romania do not have parents, which breaks down to over 8% of the child population. In Bulgaria, approximately 24,000 children do not have parents. That’s why SOS Children’s Villages is needed. They provide children a loving home in one of the SOS Children’s Villages, with the aim of letting them grow up to become independent adults, able to take responsibility for their own lives and those of others.

Dun & Bradstreet team members packing shoe boxes with supplies for needy children.

Dun & Bradstreet Team Members Fill Boxes with Holiday Cheer
To help bring in the holiday season, 17 team members from Dun & Bradstreet Deal Management and Global Data Insight and Analytics joined forces to pack and ship boxes to those less fortunate around the world. In 2012, the team packed 750 boxes, but this year the team had a mission to pack 1,000 boxes, and they accomplished their goal! Through their hard work gifts will be sent to children all around the world through Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child.

Together the team unpacked cartons of supplies, folded cardboard into shoeboxes, filled the boxes with supplies and packed the cases of shoeboxes into a truck. It was a true team effort to get this amount of work accomplished in just six hours.

The event was coordinated with former Dun & Bradstreet employee, Nelson Randolph who worked in Investor Relations and Customer Service. He retired in 2002 and since then has been on more than 110 mission trips around the world. In addition to his travel, he and various teams of people have built more than 40,000 shoes boxes for Operation Christmas Child over the past 6 years. In 2013 alone, he’s expecting to build more than 16,000 boxes.
