Overview

Abengoa has an environmental interest in engineering. The company develops environmentally sustainable projects by focusing its business on five main areas: solar energy; bioenergy; waste recycling and management; information technology; and engineering and industrial construction. It provides engineering and infrastructure services to the energy, telecommunications, transportation, water, and environmental industries in more than 70 countries worldwide. It also controls Spanish aluminum and steel-dust recycling company Befesa Medio Ambiente and US-based ethanol producer Abengoa Bioenergy Corp. The Benjumea family controls about 56% of Abengoa.
