Overview
ABARTA sure didn't put all its eggs in one basket. The diverse holding company has subsidiaries in soft drinks, frozen food, newspaper publishing, and oil and gas exploration and development. ABARTA owns four Coca-Cola bottling companies as well as Kahiki Foods, ABARTA Oil & Gas, and the South Jersey Publishing Company, which publishes The Press of Atlantic City. ABARTA's Beverage Group is among the country's largest bottlers, selling some 16 million cases a year from plants in Buffalo, New York; Cleveland; and Coatesville and Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.
