AAR Company Description
With much more than a wing and a prayer, AAR provides a wide range of products and services for the aviation industry. The company's aviation supply chain unit, which accounts for about half of AAR's sales, buys and sells a variety of engine and airframe parts and components and offers inventory management services. Other AAR units manufacture containers, pallets, and in-plane cargo loading and handling systems; provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of commercial and military aircraft and components; and sell and lease used commercial jet aircraft. Customers include airlines, business aircraft operators, aviation OEMs, and militaries. The US Department of Defense accounts for nearly a third of sales.
