Wal-Mart opened its first Neighborhood Market here last week, a format aimed at taking a bite from its grocery competitors. While Wal-Mart's Supercenters often pull shoppers from 50 miles away, the markets will draw from a 3-mile radius.

Moore store in Wellington, but the craftmeister is hitting the road. The arts and crafts retailer opened its first Palm Beach County location in March. Rival crafter Jo-Ann Stores Inc. is taking over A.C. Moore's lease in the just-built Shoppes of Isla Verde off State Road 7, a store manager said.

Economy generating 'wave' of retail closures [Columbus Ledger-Enquirer (GA)](14 Jun 2008 04:00:00 EDT)Jun. 14--Times may be tough for consumers, and now that hardship is working its way down to retailers. A.C. Moore Arts and Crafts is the latest Columbus retailer to pull the plug on its business. Assistant manager Adrienne Hart said Friday sales had been trending higher recently. The decision was announced this week to the Columbus outlet's 20 employees.
