Overview

When it comes to investing, the i's have it. One of Europe's leading private equity investors and one of the largest investment trusts on London's stock exchange, 3i Group invests in buyouts, growth capital, infrastructure, and quoted private equity (QPE). The firm has moved away from new venture capital early-stage investments and now focuses on later-stage technology, media, health care, oil, gas and power, financial services, business services, general industrial, and consumer investments in Europe, Asia, and the US. Typical investments range from €10 million to €150 million (approximately $15 milion to $200 million). 3i has some €9 billion ($12 billion) in assets under management.
