Its gateways connect devices to each other wirelessly or via phone or Ethernet wires. 2Wire also makes DSL filters and adapters. Alcatel-Lucent owns one-quarter of 2Wire. For in broadband what dreams may come when we have shuffled off these slow connections, must give us pause.
