The company provides residential gateways, multi-service media systems, and remote network management systems to service providers in North America, Europe, and the Asia/Pacific region. Carriers such as AT&T supply branded versions of 2Wire's equipment to their subscribers, who use the gateways to access entertainment programming and data services. The company's HomePortal gateways combine the features of a modem, firewall, wireless access point, and router. Its MediaPoint set-top boxes deliver digital content to televisions. Alcatel-Lucent owns one-quarter of 2Wire.
