For a fee this junk removal service will haul away any nonhazardous materials that two people can lift. It won't pick up asbestos, chemicals, oils, oil drums, oil tanks, paints, and solvents. The company picks up from homes, restaurants, and other businesses and hauls the loads to local area transfer stations or recycling centers; up to 60% of its pickups are recycled or donated to local charities. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? has more than 300 local franchises, mainly in the US and Canada (but it also operates in Australia and the UK). CEO Brian Scudamore owns the company.
